Preparing Young People for Modern Life
Life Coaching, Mentoring and Crisis Support for Teenagers and Young Adults
What We Do
Life Coaching, Mentoring & Crisis Support.
Building Confidence, Self-esteem & Resilience.
Teaching Success in Well-being, Home-Life, Practical Skills, Social Skills, Travel & Finance.
For Teenagers and Young Adults in London, Brighton & Hove and Internationally
At VIP Coaching and Mentoring, we help teenagers and young adults to master the life skills needed to find their own way.

We prepare young people for independence outside of the family home.
Designed for private households, our programmes focus on developing the practical skills and confidence for teenagers to overcome any situation on their own – and transform themselves into modern adults.
We teach success in six areas:

Wellbeing
Feelings of wellbeing are fundamental to the overall health on an individual. Wellbeing is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing. It includes having high life satisfaction, a sense of meaning or purpose and the ability to manage stress. Common areas for development include improving resilience, self-confidence, anger management skills and self-esteem.

Home Life
Manage time productively, organize school work, keep up with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry, carry out property maintenance and repairs, plan and cook healthy meals, learn essential administration skills and manage screen time!

Travel
Learn how to use public transport, explore a city safely, plan a trip abroad, pack an overnight bag, read a map, learn basic orienteering and make contingency plans.
Practical Skills
Develop a fitness routine and learn practical skills such as self-defence, first aid, campsite and survival techniques, interview skills, car maintenance and more.
Social Skills
Improve conversation skills and interview techniques, understand friendships, make friends in new situations, diffuse conflict, read body language, effectively manage feelings such as anger, anxiety or impulses.

Finance
Understand how to manage money, create a monthly budget, open a new bank account, learn how much things cost and improve awareness of everyday spending.
Instead of buying your children all the things you never had, you should teach them all the things you were never taught.
Material wears out but knowledge stays.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
What are your coaching and mentoring prices?Packages are bespoke and start from £75 per hour and depend on duration, frequency and location. Face to face sessions are more productive, but online sessions are available. Face to face sessions are approximately two hours in duration and are usually conducted in the family home. Sessions occasionally incorporate a walk in the local park or a visit to a cafe. Daily and weekly rates are available upon request.
-
What's the process? After you've made contact with us, you'll be sent a detailed email outlining the entire coaching and mentoring process. We will ask you to complete a referral form before we schedule a video or voice call. On this call you'll learn about our skills and experience, and we can learn about your reasons for seeking a coach and mentor. If you would like to explore coaching and mentoring further, we will then arrange a face-to-face appointment.
-
Does it matter where in the world I'm based? Most of our clients are based in London, Cambridge, Brighton & Hove, although our work has taken us all over the world! We're happy to explore coaching and mentoring internationally. Kevin is a British citizen with a European passport and has the right to work in the United Kingdom, and the European Union. The correct work permit can usually be obtained by using specialist visa services.
-
Do you both coach young men and women?Yes, we both coach and mentor young men and women. Kevin started his career working with 'at risk' teenage girls in a residential care setting and Steph is a solo mum to a 12 year old boy with ADHD.
-
What if we start a programme and it's not working out? It's important that all parties feel confident about the working relationship before the agreement is signed. As part of the contracting phase we'll need to meet the immediate family. This way we will be able to establish everyone's needs and the desired outcomes. There may be a requirement to meet several times and even implement a trial period.
-
How long are coaching and mentoring programmes? This depends on a number of factors. Generally speaking, programmes can last from three to 18 months. We regularly review your needs to make sure that the program is right for you. We have some clients who meet their goals in a shorter time frame and we have clients who enjoy long term support.
-
Do you do online coaching, too?"Yes, but only once a solid mentoring relationship has been established through face to face contact. We also coach and mentor parents and private household staff, such as nannies, governesses and tutors. Most of these sessions are completed online.
-
Are you a qualified therapist?Kevin is not a qualified therapist, he's a level 5 Coach and Mentor. Coaching and mentoring is not therapy or counseling. Coaching is a way of encouraging and supporting someone to achieve a goal or to develop or acquire a skill. Steph has 4 years of Level 4 Counselling Training under her belt as well as being a Certified Neuro Linguistic Processing (NLP) Coach and a Trauma Informed Therapist and is a qualified LOVAAS Therapist We're happy to work in conjunction with other professionals, which may include therapists and psychologists.
